Summary: The SecNav didn't like receiving phone calls late into the night, so something had to be done.
One by one, the former team cracked their eyes open to focus on Gibbs standing naked in the far corner of the room speaking in low tones on his cell. None of them could hear anything beyond a few “yes, sir” statements. They glanced at each other hoping someone knew what was going on. When he finally clicked the phone shut and walked back over the bed, the occupants couldn’t miss the smile on his face. “Either that was good news,” Tony started out, “or Gibbs and likely our own futures are going to be spent in a padded room.”
“That was the SecNav,” Gibbs said after looking over each of them. “Apparently his phone has been busy all night. First were the calls from the Israel consulate and a very long conversation with Deputy Director David.” Ziva sat up letting the cover slip away from her. Tony, Abby and McGee all managed to get arms around her. “It seems that Mossad does not take kindly to one of their own being targeted without cause. Especially when she has excelled in all her duties. It was made clear that termination would not be good for the future of government relations.”
Everyone gave wide smiles to Ziva knowing that at least she was safe from Vance’s attempts at controlling the team. Gibbs moved to the bed beside Tony. “The SecNav also spoke at great length with his golfing buddy, a Vice Admiral whose son was next in line for the Agent Afloat posting. Evidently the Vice Admiral did not like to hear that his son had been bumped by an ‘ex-cop with disciplinary issues’ that didn’t even have his name on the list. So consider yourself bumped from sea duty DiNozzo. The future of the SecNav’s golf games depends on it.”
Abby all but vaulted over Ziva and planted herself in Tony’s arms, planting kisses across his face and pushing his head into the headboard. McGee was the only one not smiling and Gibbs didn’t let that go unnoticed. “There also seems to be a lack of tech people who also excel at fieldwork. The SecNav’s words were, ‘If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.’ So consider yourselves back on duty one week from now. And the SecNav is personally overseeing the appointment of a new Director while we’re on leave.” They all looked around wondering what the future would bring.
Within minutes a completely different mood from the one just hours before filled the room. That first time had been about desperation and loss. This time it was promises and hope for things to come. There was a tangle of arms and legs and they each tried to reassure the others present. McGee found himself swallowing Tony’s dick just as Ziva took his own in her mouth. Gibbs had Abby pushed into the bed with her hands held above her head. The room was filled with moans, whimpers, pleas, laughing and an overwhelming since of togetherness. Their future was together.
