Going behind the cut... You've been warned.


So, I was going about my evening browsing the internet for piano pictures with jrabbit from TTH when I get a strange call from azraelz_angel. She asked if I was watching SCC. I told her I was about to start because I had gotten sidetracked and my DVR was recording. She said she couldn't talk then and we hung up. I started watching.

Never, in a million, billion years would I have seen that coming. They killed Derek! And it just happened. Like Bang. A single shot to the forward.

My NCIS loving self realizes that had I not known ahead of time that Kate was going to die this is how I would have felt.

They just killed him. Dead.

The ending with John Henry singing the song Savannah taught him was very nicely done. I loved his voice as they showed the scenes of what we assume is Derek's ashes being buried and Sarah being led away on the big screen.

Aside from my shocked state (I think I stopped breathing), the way they did the episode was good. They delivered such a punch. Punch? More like a bullet between the eyes.

I think this is going to overtake Forever Knight in my 'why the fuck did they have to go on a character killing spree' rant.

  See! I haven't watched yet, but when I heard about his new show, I knew they were gonna kill him. Dammit.

    I didn't know anything about a new show and SCC is one I don't have comm journals and spoiler links for, so I just watched the shows and read a little fanfic by those I know and don't really venture into the online fandom for it.

  Oh, damn. I started getting ominous vibes about the show mid-season when all the Riley and Jesse b.s. started overtaking the plots, so I stopped after episode 2.12 and told myself I'd catch up over the summer if the rest of the season reported well.
  
  ... Yeah, no. The awesomeness quotient of the rest would have to be amazingly high to make up for that.

    Well... like I said.... aside from my whole WTF and crying and gasping for breath reaction, they've handled it kinda good. I did love how they wrapped up the Riley/Jesse thing. The end of that episode was awesome... But this was just... it blindsided me.

    I freely admit that parts of this season have been kinda hard to pay attention to. Usually any episode that focused around Sarah was very unentertaining but the series as a whole has been above good and this episode was worth me sitting through all the Sarah crap.

  I heart this episode like woah.
  
  The moment he got shot. I'm pretty sure my head did the blonde head tilt and I asked, "Did Derek just die?"

    What's weird is that I'm not really sad-sad... I was just shocked they did it. There was no warning, no nothing... it just happened and things moved on.

  First of all...Happy Belated Birthday. :)
  
  Then I have to agree that this was a total shocker. I don't partake of the TSCC community/fandom so I had no idea. And it was a very Kate like moment. And I think the season is shaping up nicely. Some things are changing and some stories are wrapping up while at the same time throwing a few new ones out there for next season.
