Yay!!! I actually had a few paragraphs started with something else where Peter and El were bonded and then Neal came along. But then the idea of the Zoo hit and I was like... Yeah...
I think Peter could still have a hummingbird!Neal in his big cat's mouth. My dad's bird dog one time 'retrieved' a baby bird that fell out of a nest and brought it to my dad and dropped it in his hand. Other than some slobber, the bird was just fine. Just imagine Neal complaining when he's back in human form about the germs he's probably infected with from Peter's mouth!
The Zoo thing was some pencil pusher in the 60's idea. He had just a small fortune on his kids for a day at the Zoo and at work he was being hounded about rising costs and how the influx of shifters was going to make it even worse. The little light bulb went off. :)
