I started something on my original story idea and then trashed it a few hundred words in. So that one is still at 0.

  Ya know, the way I understand the GYWO rules, you're perfectly allowed to count the words you wrote, even if you then delete them again/don't use them in the final version. So, I'd count what you've written if I were you. :)

    See, I would think to myself that I'm cheating if I did that... Of course, come December 31st if I'm 150 words shy of my goal, it will totally count!
