UPDATE: Okay... As several mentioned on Twitter... They did not actually say Tony or mention Tony at any point during this scene. So, the question is, was Tony even in this reality?

Shoulder hit. And it's the kid from the case (shocked!Not).

In closing, as you can tell, I was not even an ounce interested in the case. They didn't do a Tiva AU, which is good and bad. Good because I didn't want to see it and bad because that means they'll still anvil it in the real reality.

This is an episode where I like certain scenes but not on the whole.
And I also don't feel that Kate and Tony would have happened. I actually saw more of a chance of early!Ziva and Tony than Kate and Tony. They just have that sibling vibe between them. Ziva and Tony I could have seen a one-night stand or a short lived fling back in the day (not present day definitely).
So that's about it… not too bad, but not overall wow either except for certain scenes.
And I really wish I could have gotten all the clips in the super fast flash at the beginning.

The basement timeline was different from the previous timeline... not only was Kate's baby suddenly a girl, but there was NO mention of Tony at all. So, no conclusion can be drawn that Tony was still the father. For all the ambiguity, it could be that Tony died in the line of duty (although, I HOPE that had that happened, it would have seriously impacted Gibbs in a way to at least be *mentioned*) or he could have never followed Gibbs to NCIS.
Not entirely sure that if Gibbs had never shot Hernandez that he'd ever have joined NIS in the first place.
As for the Tiva, if it was ever going to happen, it did have a better shot at being a one-night stand early on and then have done with it. But, you're definitely right about any concept of them in a relationship now: too much water under the bridge and way too much lying and distrust.
All in all, every time there is mention of Shannon/Kelly/Mexico I keep hoping it will be the last time, and then it pops up again. Hopefully, this really will be the end of it.
All in all... while I enjoyed the episode overall, I wasn't blown away. I know many people who saw it were, and I'm glad they were, but for me... not so much. The parts I did enjoy, I enjoyed the hell out of, though.
... and 1991 must have lasted 3 years in NCIS-land. :)
And I remember hearing something about the Kate/Tony plans. I guess I'm glad it never came to be. The only pairing that I think I would truly be okay with seeing on screen would be Tony/Abby if there was a pairing between the main characters.
Tiva did have that shot a long time for a one-nighter, but not now. Definitely not now.
Maybe we can bury Mexico and Tiva somewhere deep. Jimmy has abs, he should be able to help us dig! :)
I'm with you. It didn't blow me away. I had parts I really liked and the rest was just meh.
And 1991 was a magical year. I think I had plot bunny about Gibbs being cloned by the asgard from Stargate and the clones sent to 1991 to do everything that was done that year.
I like the theory one had on Twitter, that it was Gibbs' mind putting a date for their internment that could never have existed because in his mind he didn't want it to be. Was someone thinking that deep for that less than a second clip?
Yeah, wish I hadn't seen them, either.
Kate/Tony ... I wish Sasha could have come back for this (the hospital attire was just a bit obvious), but I don't think they would have been perfect on the show. Ziva's better for Tony and Kate seemed more like Gibbs' type.

The whole Kate insertion thing just didn't sit right with me. Because I *knew* it was from SWAK. I think had Sasha actually been there to film new stuff it would have flowed much better. Plus, Kate and Tony never would have got to the baby stage.

Overall, the episode wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I don't have any desire to watch it again. I do have the vain, fruitless hope that this is the last mention of Shannon/KElly/Mike/Mexico though
