This is interesting. My father for the vast majority of his life has been very healthy so when my mom called me about three weeks ago to say the ambulance took him to the hospital with chest pains and difficulty breathing I was in shock, too.
He was out a few hours later once they determined it was his lungs. He has asbestos in his lungs from working in construction in the late 1960s and early 1970s and that is killing him but it's too wide spread for them to do anything about.
