So, I watch Criminal Minds. I'm not a fanatic and really only started watching regularly this season, although I watched off and on before.

I was so happy when Nicholas Brendan showed up on the show to be with Garcia, because I got to see my Xander.

I love Reid and even have a bunny for an NCIS crossover with him.

That said...

WTF!?

NCIS didn't cliff me last night. I don't really care about Ziva all beaten up. *shrug* They made me not like her, so I'm not worried about her.

Criminal Minds... my mouth just dropped.

The episode was very captivating and somewhat disturbing as a whole. I teared up at a few points. I thought the case was a very good one and the way they had to discover parts of it... eep. I wanted to hug Garcia when she found whatever it was she saw on that lap top. I knew that the army guy was going to kill the paralyzed guy. I can't blame him. It's a shame he was the one that had to do it.

The way Morgan was trying to stop them from shooting Lucas. It tore at my heart.

The way Kelly acted. She was awesome. She figured out that he was more childlike and played to that so well. And she connected to him and was able to talk him down in some cases. I like that she tried to help him at the end by telling him how to behave. It's like she was slowly seeping into Lucas over his brother. But then she was pulled away and he couldn't cope.

:-(

So, the case left so many broken pieces around them all and they go home to start all over again and deal with it as best they could...

Then... Then.....

I know *something* was about to happen with Hotch when he walked inside. I moved from a laying position on the couch to sitting up with a pillow clutched. I kept expecting someone to be laying either in wait or dead on that couch with the blankets/pillows... But he walked up behind Hotch... And they ended with the gunshot that you have no idea who shot, where the shot went or anything. Perfect Cliff... And I HATE perfect Cliffs.

I think the guy behind the mask is the serial killer from a few eps back that escaped. He offered Hotch a deal and Hotch didn't take it. Now he's back... I knew he wasn't gone for good....

But.... Why show? Why?

And wow... Two episode reaction posts in two days. What's going on with me? I guess you better not get me started on the fact that T:tSCC didn't get renewed...
  • *frets over Hotch* Damn summer hiatus...
  • I rarely watch the show, but I did catch todays. What's the back story on the shooter?

And how the HECK could they end it like that!
    • I'm 99.9% sure that the shooter was the serial killer from the episode Omnivore (ep recaps below from IMDb).

The BAU is assigned to work on an old case, which was Hotch's first as lead investigator for the BAU, namely that of the Boston Reaper. The case was originally closed ten years ago by Tom Shaunessy, the lead Boston police detective working on the case. When the case officially closed, the killings stopped. With Shaunessy now on his deathbed, he discloses to Hotch the reasons for closing the case. After Shaunessy's death, the killings once again begin. Hotch is taking this case personally as, although he had thought and worked on his own on the case in the intervening years, he feels he could have stopped the Reaper during this time which may have prevented these recent deaths. Beyond the random persons chosen as the murder victims, the one person who may be in danger as a target of the Reaper is George Foyet, the only known person who survived the Reaper's murder attempt ten years earlier. One other person who may provide a symbiotic benefit to the BAU in finding the Reaper this time is Ray Colson, a reporter who wrote an official biography on the Reaper. Written by Huggo

On his dying night, Hotch's old superior, Tom Shaunessy, confesses to him that he made a secret agreement with an elusive, unidentified serial killer operating in Boston known as the Reaper, that the authorities would call off their manhunt for him in exchange for him to stop killing until one of them died. The same night, Shaunessy dies, and the Reaper claims two more victims. Hotch then gathers the team and heads to Boston to catch him once and for all. Written by J. Rieper

Hotch was offered the same deal as Shaunessy and didn't take it. They caught him, but the bad guy escaped. So that's why I think he's the shooter.

I missed parts of CM last night, but had the thread of the story. I *wondered* if the shooter was the guy from a few eps ago. I have this image of Morgan coming to talk to Hotch and shooting the baddy instead.

This is a cliffhanger as cliffhangers should be written.

I *care* if Hotch is alive or dead.

    Ziva? Pffft.
  • I think I'm having the same thinky thoughts as you on CM and NCIS. They made me not care whether or not Ziva's you know... ok, or anything... except for how it might impact on everyone else.

CM, on the other hand, that I just finished two minutes ago? That was awesome. Fantastic case... and as good as he is at it.... I wish Sharif Atkins would play something other than a soldier. The ending? The second Hotch wasn't giving a quote as a voiceover I knew something was up. But, damnit! That really was worse than last seasons. Can he survive two finale cliffhangers in a row?

Also - a Reid bunny for an NCIS cross? I will love you forever... ;)
  • 1. I love both shows. I adore Hotch and I can't believe they'd actually kill him off, but will maybe kidnap him or something?

    2. Unrelated - where can I track down the screencap that you have in your header showing Abby with the fingerguns? I heart it.
    • 2. That picture can be found at the following link on NCIS Bluelight (http://www.ncis-bluelight.com/ncispics/) which is also where the pics of Tony and Gibbs in my header came from. :-)

      (1) I figure they won't kill him off. (I would hope not anyway)... but kidnapping is a possibility with a minor injury. Or that someone else showed up with a gun too... and it wasn't the bad guy's gun we heard.
