Note: I kinda challenged
writinginct to write one based on the same scenario and see how different our two drabbles ended up... Her awesome response can be read here.
Summary: What would Gibbs do if he was at a crime scene and didn't have his knife?
When their ‘whatever they called it’ thing started five months ago, both agreed to one rule: there would be no interaction at work beyond what they had always had. That meant no quickies in the elevator, no lingering looks, nothing that could lead anyone, especially Abby, to suspect what they enjoyed outside of the office.
Restraining themselves from touching beyond the customary head slap was difficult, but they managed. The days were long, especially when a tough case turned up, but the wait was worth it when they ended up in tangled, expensive sheets or covered in sawdust under the boat. Well, they managed until the day Gibbs broke rule number nine.
They were working a scene at Quantico when Tony was suddenly jerked to his feet. When he got his bearings, he found Gibbs standing right in front of him. The older man was so close that Tony could almost feel their groins touching. He bit back the instinctual moan that threatened to escape his lips as he thought of all the possibilities that could occur with Gibbs right in front of him.
Then he felt his body flush as Gibbs’ hands reached for the buckle of his belt. Tony’s eyes darted to the numerous people (Ducky, McGee and Ziva included) that milled around them. “Boss! What are you-“ he started to hiss before Gibbs cut him off with just a look.
Tony’s breath became labored as Gibbs proceeded to unbuckle his belt in front of everyone. Then Gibbs’ hand slid to the underside of the belt, almost brushing the erection Tony wanted to hide.
With his eyes locked on Tony’s face, Gibbs slowly eased the concealed knife from its place. With the knife in hand, he gave a smirk and walked away, leaving a red faced Tony behind.
Note: This was written based on the NFA game WWGD and a scenario put forth by nakedquidditchfan.
The Way It Happened
Over on the NFA “WWGD” game nakedquidditchfan posed the question, “What Would Gibbs Do if he was at a crime scene and didn't have his knife?”
to which I replied, “Walk over to Tony and without explanation, undo his belt and pull out the knife hidden there and then walk away leaving behind a red faced Tony.”
to which
writinginct replied, “bwhahahaha...I can SO see that happening on screen OMG lol”
I then sent her a pm about the NCISdrabble100 prompt #77 “Restraint” - and we both decided to write the scenario and compare.
Her awesome response can be read here.

Yay for laughing... and yes I'm alive... internet trouble was upon me, but we don't not speak of it for fear of reprisals...
Laura.
