So, I woke up this morning not feeling good after having serious sinus problems for the last few weeks. This resulted in taking some medicine, calling work and saying I would be in later if I felt better, then I went back to bed. Fast forward to 11:30 when I woke up, felt better and got ready for work. I grabbed a sandwich and soda and headed down to my car.
Now, it is fall around here. Leaves are absolutely everywhere and they are slippery when walking on the sidewalk and the stone steps down to the street in front of my apartment where my car is parked. So I'm eating my sandwich, watching where I step so I don't fall down and end up with a broken leg like my boss, when I see something strange laying on the street next to my car.
I look closer cause it's strange looking and then I notice little pieces of glass all over the road. I whip my head up and see:

The only reason I'm not upset sounding is this will be completely covered under my insurance with no deductible and no rate increase. It could have been the whole side of my car instead of just my mirror...
*sigh*

So that circled section is the rest of your mirror? That is awfully weird that it made it that far from your car...
Yeah, I thought so too. It's the back bubbly shaped piece of plastic that covers the back part of the mirror. My dad said that was from a high impact hit. So I guess I should be really glad that whoever the bastard is, they just clipped the mirror and not the rest of my car.
I took it by the ford dealership on my way in to work today... They have to order a mirror, but said once it's in, it will only take them 15 minutes to pop the old one off and put the new one on. (it took me 45-50 minutes of waiting to find that out though) So no driver side mirror until Monday or possibly Tuesday.
