Quick Update from Lunch Work Break

Things are getting bad around here... Flooding bad. And the rain just keeps coming.

Below are some arial photos a local weather spotter took and then doesn't even account for 2-3" of rain we got last night and 3-5" they're expecting by tomorrow.

I'll be cut off from parents in IL by today/tomorrow and we're already cut off from Missouri where my sister and brother are. My brother is temporarily laid off due to water where he works.

And many, many people I know are losing everything in IL. :(

This is already the worst recorded flood stages ever (beating the 1937 flood) in some places and will either meet or be just below in others.

    Hope everything turns out OK for you and your family. I lived through the floods of Bilbao in 1983 and know just how frightening it is to see how the water runs through everything as if there were no obstacles. I hope you can keep in contact with those you love via mobile phone. Hugs

  Hugs. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. We've had flooding in the village here where people have been forced out of their homes and that was bag enough but your floods there are so much worse, I really hope the weather turns soon.
